First,
a word on contacting me
Most
people who get to this page are usually seeking help with their
qmail installation. So here is my answer to the "I'm stuck.
Can you help me?" question:
First,
before you ask me a questions, please make sure the answer is
not already available in 1 or more of the following places:
1)
The FAQ area of the
site.
2)
The mailing
list
3)
The mailing list archives
3)
The discussion forum
4)
The qmailrocks IRC channel on Freenode.net at #QMR
If
you are stuck and have a well thought out question or 2 that is
not answered in the FAQ, the mailing list, the mailing list archives
or the discussion forurm feel free to ask. I will attempt to get
back to you as soon as I can, but no promises. I build the FAQ
area of this site directly from people's questions, so a clear,
concise and well through out question is always welcome. However,
please do not start sending me e-mail after e-mail requesting
help for every single problem you run into. The QMR installation
does work, but I can promise you that you will run into a problem
or 2 along the way if you are new to qmail and/or Linux/Unix.
That's life. If you're running into problem after problem after
problem, you may want to consider taking a step back and maybe
even starting over. Please keep in mind that since I do not have
access to your server, the amount of help I can offer is limited.
It's rather difficult to accurately troubleshoot a system that
I'm not logged in to. Additionally, try to keep in mind that I
do this site "for fun" and that I have a fulltime day
& night job. I cannot play the role of free support technician.
It's just not going to happen. If you start sending me e-mail
after e-mail, I will eventually ignore you. Sorry, but I have
to draw the line somewhere. :) |
